UM BLSA COMMITEES
GET INVOLVED AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Admissions
The Admissions Committee assists the admission office by calling prospective students, arranging tours, and answering questions concerning the social and academic life at University of Miami School of Law

BLSA Banquet
This event is the last opportunity that graduating JD and LLM students have to come together and share memories of their time at the law school. Here, BLSA recognizes individual student's achievements and contributions to BLSA and the law school at large.  This event has also proven to be an excellent opportunity for BLSA to reinforce its relationship with soon-to-be alumnae.

Community Service
The Community Service Committee organizes several short term projects for BLSA members to participate in during the academic year.

Mentorship
Having a mentor is essential for jumpstarting your academic and professional legal career.  The Mentorship Committee assists UM BLSA members in obtaining a mentor within UM BLSA.  This committee is also responsible for coordinating events between UM BLSA members and their corresponding mentors within the Miami legal community.

Membership
This committee facilitates communication with UM BLSA members and prospective members from the University of Miami School of Law community.  More details soon!

Newsletter
This committee gathers newsworthy information about UM BLSA members and other leaders in the legal community to distribute to members of the organization, UM Law faculty and administration, as well as UM BLSA supporters within the community.

Scholarship
This committee will communicate all scholarship opportunities to UM BLSA members

Street Law
This program will send BLSA members into schools, community centers, and juvenile detention facilities to discuss different aspects of the law, basic rights, and educational opportunities that may be available to the students (youth).
