THE FEDERALIST SOCIETY FOR LAW AND POLICY STUDIES

We are a group of conservative and libertarian students concerned with the current state of our legal system.

Our principles:

  • The state exists to preserve freedom
  • The separation of governmental powers is central to our Constitution
  • It is emphatically the province and duty of the judiciary to say what the law is, not what it should be.

This is a recipe for good government that preserves the rule of law and advances the dignity of all citizens.

Each term, we work to promote awareness of these principles at UM Law and beyond, through a wide range of activities including speeches and debates, as well as social and networking events.

Visit us at http://miamifedsoc.blogspot.com/ or email us at fed-soc@law.miami.edu. You can also call, (305) 284-5166, or stop by our offices in Room 260, above Subway.
