Thank you for taking the time to visit the University of Miami School of Law's Charles C. Papy, Jr. Moot Court Board's website. For years now, the Moot Court Board has prided itself on attracting the finest oral and written advocates and honing their skills in preparation for both inter-school competitions and their future legal careers. In 2006-2007 the Board was very successful in winning regional competitions and successfully hosting six on-campus competitions. In furtherance of our goal to select only the most highly qualified advocates, this honorary organization limits its membership to only the top 7% of 1L and 2L students. Membership to the Board is primarily based on oral and written performance in the John T. Gaubatz 1L competition, with the majority of new applicants being notified of their selection to the Board during the summer after their first year.
During the 2007-20078 academic year, the Charles C. Papy, Jr. Moot Court Board will be led by President Kristy Militello. In addition to administering the Negotiation Competition, Mock Trial Competition, Fall and Spring C. Clyde Atkins Advanced Moot Court Competitions, the John T. Gaubatz 1L Competition, and attending numerous inter-school competitions across the nation, the Board has been requested to host the American Bar Association’s Regional Client Counseling Competition in February 2008. The Executive Board’s goal is to continue the advancement of the Board as a professional organization with an aim of giving the University of Miami School of Law an increasingly respected position in both the competition and professional legal world. The continued success of the Board heavily relies upon school, alumni, and community support and such assistance is always greatly appreciated.
