                          Meet the Executive Board

Phi Alpha Delta is a professional law fraternity composed of law students, attorneys, judges and educators. With over 250,000 living members across the world, which means approximately one in six attorneys, we are dedicated to promoting professional competency, service, and achievement within the legal profession.

P.A.D. has chartered more chapters than any other law fraternity since its inception in 1902. We have over 192 law school chapters (only at ABA-accredited law schools), 97 alumni chapters and over 270 pre-law chapters.

P.A.D. bridges the gap between undergraduate work, law school and the practice of law. We promote professional, social, academic and community service programs designed to broaden the professional experience of our members.

Providing a forum for law students and professionals to exchange ideas, expand knowledge and continue lifelong friendships and business contacts is what we are all about.

One of the things P.A.D. is famous for on the UM campus is outlines. By joining P.A.D., students receive discounts on any of the outlines we have in our immense outline bank.

The outlines are donated by students who have received a B+ or higher on their exams. We have outlines for most courses and most professors.

Becoming a P.A.D. member also entitles students to discounts on Geico car insurance and MicroMash Bar Review, which thousands of people have found extremely helpful. Phi Alpha Delta even has its own credit card.

Phi Alpha Delta does not impose restrictions on membership. Students who are interested in providing service to the school, the community and the profession, and who are looking to expand their professional and social network are welcome to join. Because we are one chapter of a large international law fraternity, members are required to pay both national and local dues. The national fee is $70 and our local chapter fee is currently $10. Though these may seem like large amounts, please remember that P.A.D. charges one lifetime fee. In other words, once you have made this one set of payments, you are a member for LIFE. Further, members have found that the fee pays for itself with all the discounts they begin to enjoy upon having been initiated into the fraternity.

Applications for membership can be found in the Dean of Students office, at meetings held on every other Monday at 12:30 in room 109, and on our office door, which is in room 261, located in the student organizations hallway above Subway (there is a yellow P.A.D. sign in our window that can be seen from the Bricks). Officers generally have applications on hand as well.
