The Society of Bar and Gavel

The Society of Bar and Gavel was established in 1949 and is an honor society that recognizes an individual student's outstanding service and dedication to goodwill. As a measure, the Society of Bar and Gavel seeks new members involved in community service with exemplary character, leadership abilities and a positive attitude.

Membership into The Society is an honor and a commitment. It requires active participation and involvement so that the organization can provide the greatest possible amount of service to the Law School and the Greater Miami Community.

Application to the Society of Bar and Gavel is open to all students at the University of Miami School of Law having at least one regular semester remaining prior to graduation.
